Week 11

IT IS HALLOWEEN WEEK AT MANN!

This week, we will do our BEST to stay focused since Wednesday is going to be FUN DAY for our students!  Please note, there will be NO HOMEWORK sent home on Wednesday this week due to Halloween.

We will be working on NONFICTION again in reading and writing.  In math we will cover lessons 3-5 in Module 3 on Place Value.  (Please click on the "math tab" to watch the videos that go along with those lessons.)

Please remember the "special lunch hour" on Wednesday for students to go home to change for Halloween.  Lunch will be from 11:30-12:45.  Our classroom parties (for room parents and students only) will be from 1:00-1:45 with the parade following until dismissal.

Thank you to all the room parents who are helping with the planning of each class party!  We really do appreciate your time!  😏

Also, thank you to everyone for meeting with us last week for parent teacher conferences!  If you have any additional questions, please email your teacher.

Week 10

Parent/Teacher Conferences begin this week!
If you need a reminder on when your conference time will be, please e-mail your child's teacher.

Thursday and Friday will be "HALF DAYS" FOR STUDENTS!  Pick up is at 11:00 on the blacktop for dismissal.  

The Book Fair is also going on this week!  Feel free to pop into the auditorium when you come to visit your child's teacher!

Week 9

This week will begin our 2nd unit for both Writing and Reading workshop.  We will begin to really discuss nonfiction writing and reading. 

In math the end of Module 2 assessment will take place for all classrooms which have not yet completed the assessment.  Module 3 will cover place value.

Social Studies will include learning various "Maps of a community."  We have completed our Science unit on Matter!

*Second grade will have our Halloween parties in the classroom for ONLY room parents and students from 1:00-1:45.

Week 8

I hope everyone is enjoying their COLUMBUS DAY OFF FROM SCHOOL!

This week will be a shorter week, which includes celebrations in writing and reading!

We will also be wrapping up our Module 2 unit in math, so please double check homework and review worksheets this week to make sure your child is understanding the math material.

Important dates:  Parent/Teacher conference~ Half day for students on Oct. 25th and 26th.
Halloween Celebration~ LUNCH is from 11:30-12:45 on Wed. Oct. 31st

**Students can be picked up on the playground at 11:30:  (Please notify teacher ahead of time)
Students that will remain in school will watch a viewing of SPOOKLEY THE SQUARE PUMPKIN!
