Week 15

Full week ahead this week!  Snow is here!  Winter is around the corner!  :)

This week we will continue to work on Math unit~ Module 3!
(Please note some lessons will be skipped so that we can finish up our unit on time!)

Science also begins with our unit on ROCKS and MINERALS!

Important dates coming up are:

Friday, December 7th~ Field trip to Lizzadro Museum

Friday, December 7th~ Report Cards will be sent home in your child's back pack
Friday, December 14th at 8:30 a.m. in the Auditorium~ Gingerbread Jam Performance!

Week 14

THANKSGIVING WEEK IS HERE!

This week will be a two day week!  😆

*SECOND TRIMESTER HAS STARTED!*  

(Please note that report cards will be distributed on Friday, Dec. 7th) 

We will be sharing our "turkey stories" with the class!

  We will also work on Lessons 11 and 12 in our math book and wrap up our Social Studies unit!  Next week when we return, we will begin our Science unit on Rocks and Minerals!

*Our field trip to Lizzadro Museum will take place on Friday, Dec. 7th!  Thanks to all parents who will be chaperoning on this field trip!

Week 13

Thanksgiving is around the corner!  One more full week before the HOLIDAY week begins!

On Friday your child should have sent home the "Turkey Writing Assignment."  The task if for your child to write at least 5 sentences telling "where" their turkey flew off to!  (The turkey is avoiding being eaten up on Thanksgiving so where did it go?)

Please edit and check over your child's writing before it is brought back to school on Friday, Nov. 16th.  We will plan on sharing them with the class during the week of Thanksgiving!

Also, this week we will be giving the MID MODULE unit test in Math.  This will take place after lesson 10.  Please check your child's homework folder nightly to go over the review pages.

Week 12

HAPPY NOVEMBER!  

This week there will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday due to Institute Day!

Thanks to EVERYONE who helped plan our Halloween parties!  The kids had a GREAT day!

Week 11

IT IS HALLOWEEN WEEK AT MANN!

This week, we will do our BEST to stay focused since Wednesday is going to be FUN DAY for our students!  Please note, there will be NO HOMEWORK sent home on Wednesday this week due to Halloween.

We will be working on NONFICTION again in reading and writing.  In math we will cover lessons 3-5 in Module 3 on Place Value.  (Please click on the "math tab" to watch the videos that go along with those lessons.)

Please remember the "special lunch hour" on Wednesday for students to go home to change for Halloween.  Lunch will be from 11:30-12:45.  Our classroom parties (for room parents and students only) will be from 1:00-1:45 with the parade following until dismissal.

Thank you to all the room parents who are helping with the planning of each class party!  We really do appreciate your time!  😏

Also, thank you to everyone for meeting with us last week for parent teacher conferences!  If you have any additional questions, please email your teacher.

Week 10

Parent/Teacher Conferences begin this week!
If you need a reminder on when your conference time will be, please e-mail your child's teacher.

Thursday and Friday will be "HALF DAYS" FOR STUDENTS!  Pick up is at 11:00 on the blacktop for dismissal.  

The Book Fair is also going on this week!  Feel free to pop into the auditorium when you come to visit your child's teacher!

Week 9

This week will begin our 2nd unit for both Writing and Reading workshop.  We will begin to really discuss nonfiction writing and reading. 

In math the end of Module 2 assessment will take place for all classrooms which have not yet completed the assessment.  Module 3 will cover place value.

Social Studies will include learning various "Maps of a community."  We have completed our Science unit on Matter!
