Week 18

This is it!  The LAST school week of 2018!  Winter break begins after Friday, Dec. 21st!

Monday, the choir from Oak Leyden would like to return to perform to our students for the holidays in the morning.

Friday the Book in a Box project is due! It is also our HOLIDAY AUCTION/PARTY, which will be in the afternoon.

Please be sure that your child brings into school 3 "recycled" toys that your child wants to get rid of and no longer use.

Thanks to all our room parents who have helped us prepare for our class parties this week!

Week 17

TWO WEEKS UNTIL WINTER BREAK!

Thanks to all the chaperones who attended our "Lizzadro Museum" field trip last Friday!

Important Dates:

This Friday, Dec. 14th, is our "Gingerbread Man" music concert in the auditorium at 8:30 a.m.!

Friday, Dec. 21st is our holiday parties/auction which will be held in the afternoon.

The second graders did FANTASTIC on their Module 3 tests!  Module 4 will begin this week!

Week 16

3 WEEK COUNTDOWN TO WINTER BREAK!

Happy DECEMBER!

This week second grade will be going on our first field trip of the school year!

Friday, Dec. 7th is our trip to Lizzadro Museum!  (Students will eat lunch at school when we return.) 

This week we will also take our end of Module 3 math test on Thursday.  Please review with your child so he/she is prepared for the test this week.

In reading/writing we will begin our work with "CHARACTERS!"  While reading at home, ask your child questions about the characters in the story.  What are their "character traits?"

Week 15

Full week ahead this week!  Snow is here!  Winter is around the corner!  :)

This week we will continue to work on Math unit~ Module 3!
(Please note some lessons will be skipped so that we can finish up our unit on time!)

Science also begins with our unit on ROCKS and MINERALS!

Important dates coming up are:

Friday, December 7th~ Report Cards will be sent home in your child's back pack
Friday, December 14th at 8:30 a.m. in the Auditorium~ Gingerbread Jam Performance!

Week 14

THANKSGIVING WEEK IS HERE!

This week will be a two day week!  😆

*SECOND TRIMESTER HAS STARTED!*  

(Please note that report cards will be distributed on Friday, Dec. 7th) 

We will be sharing our "turkey stories" with the class!

  We will also work on Lessons 11 and 12 in our math book and wrap up our Social Studies unit!  Next week when we return, we will begin our Science unit on Rocks and Minerals!

*Our field trip to Lizzadro Museum will take place on Friday, Dec. 7th!  Thanks to all parents who will be chaperoning on this field trip!

Week 13

Thanksgiving is around the corner!  One more full week before the HOLIDAY week begins!

On Friday your child should have sent home the "Turkey Writing Assignment."  The task if for your child to write at least 5 sentences telling "where" their turkey flew off to!  (The turkey is avoiding being eaten up on Thanksgiving so where did it go?)

Please edit and check over your child's writing before it is brought back to school on Friday, Nov. 16th.  We will plan on sharing them with the class during the week of Thanksgiving!

Also, this week we will be giving the MID MODULE unit test in Math.  This will take place after lesson 10.  Please check your child's homework folder nightly to go over the review pages.

Week 12

HAPPY NOVEMBER!  

This week there will be NO SCHOOL on Tuesday due to Institute Day!

Thanks to EVERYONE who helped plan our Halloween parties!  The kids had a GREAT day!
